Tom Gill

Spoken Word Artist | Actor | Singer-Songwriter

Tom is a London based spoken word artist, actor and singer/songwriter originally from Salford.

A UK National Poetry Slam Champion and former resident artist at the Roundhouse in Camden, Tom mixes wordplay, wit and lyricism with acoustic songs to create a fresh, poignant style of storytelling.

He began writing and performing his own material in 2014 where he was winner of the Lyrical Firewards Award (Paines Plough) before going on to feature at an eclectic mix of venues and festivals from Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club to Latitude, Wilderness and Lovebox festival.

Tom has had work commissioned and televised by Channel 4 and Sky One, as well as collaborating on projects with BBC Radio 1Xtra and Manchester United/Adidas.

His debut solo theatre show GROWING PAINS was commissioned by Battersea Arts Centre in 2016. The production enjoyed a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe to critical acclaim.  Backed by House Theatre, the show toured the UK in 2017/18 having been published by Play Dead Press.

Tom has recently been shooting on Mike Leigh's forthcoming feature film PETERLOO, as well as working on some brand new material, which he looks to share in the not too distant future!

As fresh and original as they come... one of the most edgy and vital voices on the scene
